About Lia Economou
Lia Economou is an Art Psychotherapist with experience working across educational, community and clinical settings. She holds an MSc in Art Psychotherapy from Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh and a BA (Hons) in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London. With clinical NHS training and experience within schools and community organisations, Lia is interested in how art can shape lives at all stages and chapters.
Grounded in psychodynamic and person-centred practice, her work is trauma-informed and also draws on mentalisation-based approaches to support individuals in developing meaningful insight, emotional understanding and healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Her approach is collaborative, compassionate and adaptable, drawing on the belief that creativity is not only an important part of wellbeing, but can also offer ways of processing experiences beyond words alone. She values working with people from all walks of life and creating tailored spaces where individuals feel safe to explore and develop at their own pace.
