Heather Turkington
Specialist CBT Therapist and Dramatherapist
About Heather
Heather is an experienced integrative therapist offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dramatherapy, with a specialist focus on trauma. She has over ten years’ experience working clinically, and holds two Master’s degrees: one in Dramatherapy and one in specialist CBT, with a particular emphasis on trauma-focused CBT. Her work draws on both evidence-based and creative approaches, and can be especially helpful when past experiences, traumatic memories, or long-standing patterns are impacting emotional wellbeing, relationships, or day-to-day life.
Heather has worked within NHS mental health services for the past four years and also supports clients in private practice. She regularly works with people experiencing PTSD and complex PTSD, as well as anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and trauma-related difficulties. Heather aims to offer a warm, compassionate, and person-centred therapeutic space, working at a pace that feels safe and collaborative, and supporting clients to build both insight and emotional stability. She welcomes adults from all backgrounds and identities
